In collaboration with the Swiss loudspeaker manufacturer Piega, Stephan Hürlemann has developed a product family for newcomers. The floorstanding speaker (Ace 50), the shelf speaker (Ace 30) and the center box (Ace Center) replace Piega's TMicro series. 'To me, a speaker is beautiful when it is visually unobtrusive – the music should decorate the room. With Ace, I wanted to take this philosophy to the extreme. I wanted the audience to ask themselves how such an impressive sound can come from such a discreet loudspeaker', says the designer.
To create a compact body, Hürlemann visually merged the individual parts of the speaker. Every little detail works: the lid sits almost seamlessly on the profile; the front grille curves backwards over the sides to become one with the slim body of the speaker. The round footplate of the floorstanding speaker is also new. Stephan Hürlemann’s design seemingly lets the column float above the floor, adding to its body’s delicate appearance. All models of the Ace-series are available as passive speakers or active and wireless speakers.
