With its clean-cut design, the sofa family DS-21 (2016) and its extension DS-22 (2017) rank among the most successful products of de Sede’s new generation. Now, Stephan Hürlemann complemented the Swiss furniture manufacturer’s collection with a bed which picks up the same design language.
The mattress of the DS-1121 is framed by generous cushion cubes with felled seam, which in turn are bordered by a metal frame and carried by tubular feet. As a result, the bed gives the impression of hovering over the ground. The architecture of the bed’s head piece, as well as the mattress which contrasts the side and foot cushions, support the design’s straightforwardness. Like the sofas, the cushion cubes of the boxspring bed are available with various types of leather and fabric covers.
