For the second year in a row, Ventura Projects opened the gates to eight abandoned warehouses beneath Milan Central Station during Milano Design Week. Ten exhibitioners presented their installations in the unique location, whose reception area was designed by Stephan Hürlemann. He created a five-metre-long welcome desk which served as visitor registration and also functioned as a source of light in the dark room. Its glowing effect was achieved by placing fluorescent tubes on the inside of the bar made of transparent multiwall polycarbonate sheets. Owing to the room’s dim atmosphere, the centred black feet on which the bar rests disappeared to the eye, thereby conveying the impression of the light fixture hovering over the ground. Peeping through dark-colored curtains, a wall with text illuminated by a spotlight guided visitors into the adjacent room featuring the installation “Giants with Dwarf“ by Stephan Hürlemann for horgenglarus.
